Coming Soon

These are the books that have not been published yet, but their release date has been announced, and I am excited for them!

  1. Warriors: Changing Skies: The Elders Quest by Erin Hunter

Expected Publication: January 7, 2025

This is the ninth series in the Warriors Saga. I am always surprised when a new series comes out, there has been so many, and so many generations in the clans as well. It’s fun to join the hype of the new series, the title for the series, the characters, and the main story line. The Erins said, many years ago, that they wouldn’t stop writing Warriors until they were dead. That may be so, and while I love Warriors (it is a big part of my life, and I think reality will shift when they stop coming out with new ones) there’s just something missing from the new books that the 1st and 2nd series had. The thought of re-reading the entire Saga crosses my mind briefly, but…I can’t even finish a new series nowadays, what with work and life. And re-reading NINE sets of SIX books, plus the Super Editions and mini stories… you could choose to only ever read Warriors books for the rest of your life, and you still wouldn’t run out of new books to read. You may get bored though, because I don’t know how much longer they can come up with new story ideas. Some of them are even recycled in a way. It is always fun to see who had kits with who, the unique warriors names of new warriors (the names have gotten more creative and fancy, I can say that at least), and what drama is going on now. It’s like tuning in to a soap opera every now and then just to see what’s going on.

2. The Songbird and the Heart of Stone by Carissa Broadbent

Expected Publication: November 19, 2024

There will be a new sub-series in the Crowns of Nyaxia series titled The Shadowborn Duet. I love when authors do this, like Erin Hunter. Keep giving us stories from the same world, please! It feels more realistic this way, instead of just stopping by for a quick time and walking away as if watching a movie in a movie theater. We get to live and grow with these characters and in this world. Plus, it’s more likely to create a fandom this way.

Unfortunately, this will not be about the main characters from The Serpent and the Wings of Night. I thought it was, because it’s listed as book 3 in the Crowns of Nyaxia series, but it’s actually about the side character Mische. Hopefully we will get to see Raihn and Oraya enjoying their life in the background. (By the way, read my review of The Serpent and the Wings of Night HERE)

In the blurb, it says it’s A Court of Thorns and Roses meets Dante’s Inferno. Sign. Me. Up. I love when novels have themes of a retelling of classics.

I actually haven’t read the second book, The Ashes and the Start Cursed King, but I’m sure I will get to it by November. Also, when researching for this post, I suddenly realized that the first two books are a Duet, a sub-series, called The Nightborn Duet. Since the third book is the beginning of The Shadowborn Duet, I can only guess that there will be one more duet, The Bloodborn Duet. And each duet will be about a new couple. Ok, I’m freaking out! (Also, the word duet is used WAY TOO MUCH in this paragraph. Sorry!)

3. Onyx Storm by Rebecca Yarros

Cover coming soon

Expected Publication: January 21, 2025

Onyx Storm is the 3rd (but NOT final) book of the Empyrean series. Goodreads says this will be a 5 book series. Phew, that’s a lot of writing. (And I’m starting to see a theme here. Hey, I’m not good at letting go of characters, ok? Give me a break.) These books are pretty long, with Fourth Wing being 517 pages, and Iron Flame being 640. Again, I haven’t read the 2nd book yet, but I’m pretty sure I can get around to it by next year.
I will be on the look out for the cover art; it should be coming soon because The Elder’s Quest is coming out around the same time and it has already released the cover and the blurb.
