I just finished reading A Dream of Blood and Magic, and wow—I am absolutely hooked! The story follows Avery Jaxon, a young woman with a troubled past who suddenly finds herself caught in the crossfire of a war between vampires and witches. This isn’t your typical paranormal story—there are fae-type shifters, dark magic, and a world full of secrets that feels so rich and mysterious, I couldn’t help but get lost in it.
One of the most compelling parts of the book is Avery’s dreams. Strange men appear in them, but these dreams feel so vivid, they start to blur the line between reality and hallucination. It’s an eerie and fascinating twist that kept me glued to the pages, wondering how these dreams would affect her waking life—and they definitely do! The way the author weaves this supernatural element into the story makes it feel like you’re constantly balancing between two worlds, which adds a layer of suspense and tension.
I absolutely loved the action in this book. The battles, the chases, and the raw tension between the characters are all so well done, pulling me into every conflict and making me care about how it all plays out. The fantasy elements are equally captivating—the world-building is just detailed enough to give you a taste of its depth, but there are still so many secrets left to uncover. It’s like the author gave us a glimpse behind the curtain, and now I’m dying to learn more about the magical factions and creatures roaming this world.
